FestivalFocus (festivalfocus.uk) is a trading name of Cogniosynthesis Portal Ltd, company number 16225073, registered office 4 Llys Idwal, Lampeter, SA48 7BX. Cogniosynthesis Portal Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us at any time at hello@festivalfocus.uk.
What data we collect
- Browsing and analytics data. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Analytics cookies are set on your device only if you accept analytics on our cookie banner. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set and no personal data is processed for analytics. You can change your choice at any time using the 'Cookie settings' link in the footer. The lawful basis for analytics processing is Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR — your consent. When enabled, analytics measures pages visited and device/browser information.
- Giveaway entries. If you enter the FestivalFocus 2027 ticket giveaway, we collect your full name, email address, date of birth, county of residence, IP address, your festival review, your uploaded ticket purchase proof, and your category rank-preferences.
- Newsletter subscriptions. If you subscribe, we collect your email address (and optionally your name) to send you updates.
- Festival submissions. If you submit a festival for listing, we collect your name and email address alongside the submission.
Lawful bases (UK GDPR)
- Article 6(1)(a) — consent: processing giveaway entry data, including ticket purchase proof; sending marketing emails to entrants who have opted in; newsletter subscriptions; optional website analytics.
- Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest: publishing accepted giveaway reviews (with first name and county only), supported by a documented legitimate-interest assessment; operating and securing the website.
Marketing emails are sent only where you have explicitly opted in. Opting in is never a condition of entering the giveaway.
Retention schedule (giveaway)
- Ticket purchase proof and category rank-prefs: 30 days after the draw closes for non-winners; 6 years for winners (Companies Act 2006 s.388).
- Travel proof (drawn winners only): 30 days after prize claim or forfeiture.
- Published reviews: retained until the entrant requests deletion (see below).
- Contact attempts and winner records: 6 years.
Rejected giveaway entries are deleted within 30 days of rejection.
Cookie choices and consent records
Our strictly necessary ff_cookie_consent cookie remembers your choice for up to 12 months. It contains a random visitor identifier, not your email address. We store the categories you chose, the time, banner version and the exact consent wording with its SHA-256 hash on our server as evidence of your choice. These records are retained for six years from the choice, then deleted. We ask again after 12 months or when the banner version changes. You can reject or withdraw analytics at any time through Cookie settings; withdrawal stops further analytics and clears Google Analytics cookies from this site. Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) are configured to last up to 12 months after use.
Google Analytics may transfer data to Google LLC in the United States. The transfer mechanism is the UK–US Data Bridge (the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework), to which Google LLC is certified. See Google's data transfer frameworks. Marketing preferences are recorded separately; this site currently loads no advertising tags.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing already carried out). Entrants may request deletion of their published review at any time by emailing hello@festivalfocus.uk — we will delete the review within 30 days unless a legal obligation requires retention.
