FestivalFocus (festivalfocus.uk) is a trading name of Cogniosynthesis Portal Ltd, company number 16225073, registered office 4 Llys Idwal, Lampeter, SA48 7BX. Cogniosynthesis Portal Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us at any time at hello@festivalfocus.uk.
What data we collect
- Browsing and analytics data. We use privacy-respecting analytics (Google Analytics) to understand how the site is used. This may include your IP address, device and browser information, and pages visited.
- Giveaway entries. If you enter the FestivalFocus 2027 ticket giveaway, we collect your full name, email address, date of birth, county of residence, IP address, your festival review, your uploaded ticket purchase proof, and your category rank-preferences.
- Newsletter subscriptions. If you subscribe, we collect your email address (and optionally your name) to send you updates.
- Festival submissions. If you submit a festival for listing, we collect your name and email address alongside the submission.
Lawful bases (UK GDPR)
- Article 6(1)(a) — consent: processing giveaway entry data, including ticket purchase proof; sending marketing emails to entrants who have opted in; newsletter subscriptions.
- Article 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest: publishing accepted giveaway reviews (with first name and county only), supported by a documented legitimate-interest assessment; operating and securing the website.
Marketing emails are sent only where you have explicitly opted in. Opting in is never a condition of entering the giveaway.
Retention schedule (giveaway)
- Ticket purchase proof and category rank-prefs: 30 days after the draw closes for non-winners; 6 years for winners (Companies Act 2006 s.388).
- Travel proof (drawn winners only): 30 days after prize claim or forfeiture.
- Published reviews: retained until the entrant requests deletion (see below).
- Contact attempts and winner records: 6 years.
Rejected giveaway entries are deleted within 30 days of rejection.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing already carried out). Entrants may request deletion of their published review at any time by emailing hello@festivalfocus.uk — we will delete the review within 30 days unless a legal obligation requires retention.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.
